Elder statesman, Edwin Clark, has called on President Bola Tinubu to immediately implement the resolutions of the 2014 national conference which would help re-unite the Igbo.

Clark, leader of the Southern and Middle Belt Leaders Forum, made this on Thursday while hosting a 10-man delegation of Igbo leadership, led by former chairman of the Police Service Commission, Simon Okeke, at his Asokoro residence, Abuja.

The 97-year-old said executing the recommendations of the conference would unite the entire country.

Noting that Nigeria is a big family, Clark advised the president to avoid the temptation of making appointments on an ethnic basis, adding that such an act portends a very dangerous trend for the country.

“If President Bola Tinubu immediately implements the 2014 National Conference Report, it will help to re-unite the Igbos, bringing them to the position they occupied before the civil war,” he said.

The Ijaw leader also urged the Igbo to put their acts together to achieve their desire.
