City beats Chelsea 1-0, Manchester United loses to Villa

English Premier League week 6 games resumed after the English Football League (EFL) Cup 3rd round matches were played midweek.

Early saturday kick offs were games between the current champion, Manchester City and joint league leader Chelsea , and the game between Manchester United and Aston Villa.

The game between Chelsea and the blue half of Manchester played at Chelsea home, Stamford Bridge stadium, was dominated by the away side, but they were unable to make a break through in the first half.

Second half kicked off in similar fashion with City’s dominance paying off when Gabriel Jesus, slot in the only goal of the match on the 53th min to give the visitors a deserved win.

The second game played at Old Trafford stadium, the home of Manchester United, was won by less fancied Aston Villa, despite playing away to their more illustrious opponent , Manchester United.

Villa had to survive the early onslaughts by the home side, to ensure the first half of the game ended 0-0.

United remained dominant in the second half but Villa remained resolute and restricted them to 4 shots on target, despite having 16 shots in the game.

The decisive moment of the game came, when Villa’s midfielder, Douglas Luiz, provided an assist for Kortney Hause, to tuck away on 88 minutes deep into the second half.

Manchester United got a life line in 93rd minute , when they got a spot kick decision, which was blasted away by Bruno Fernandez, to give the away side, Aston Villa, a much cherished win.
