Prelate of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, and Moderator of the General Assembly, His Eminence, Nzie Nsi Eke, has asked Nigerians to reflect on  the period of the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ to promote unity.

In his message entitled; “Let Peace And Goodwill Unite Us”  to mark  Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ ,  Nzie Nsi Eke urged Nigerians to see their differences in tribes,  religions, and appearances as a blessing rather than a curse.

He said: “Many other nations desire to be like us; they envy our diversity,  resilience, enterprising spirit, dynamism, resourcefulness and creativity….Let us use this period to develop a strong will to survive and lay the foundation of true greatness despite all our challenges, ” he said.

He noted that God has continued to feature prominently in the affairs of Nigeria and Nigerians in spite of the economic hardship hence the need for all hands to be on the deck toward lifting the nation to the next level of prosperity and progress.

“As we enjoy the festive atmosphere, our wishes to one another should not just be season’s greetings but sincere Christmas wishes to everyone. Jesus Christ remains the reason for the season and we must not leave Him lying in the Manger while we indulge in excessive frivolities.

” We should carry Jesus’ spirit wherever we go and reflect on His essence and message of peace and goodwill to the entire world. Our suffering world needs the gospel of Jesus and as Christians we must never deny humanity the message of love and the gift of eternal life which can only possessed through Jesus Christ.”

His Eminence Nzie Nsi Eke prayed that the joy, peace, and good tidings of Christmas will find a permanent abode in the lives of all Nigerians and all men and women of goodwill.
