General Overseer of Soul Winning Chapel, Rev. Moses Iloh, has advised Christians to consciously seek and have a time with God on this Good Friday.
Good Friday is a Christian event that commemorates the death and crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
According to Christian teachings, it is one of the most significant events in christian history because it prefaces salvation for all human race.
Rev Iloh says the Good Friday should be a time for Christians to seek a quiet time and ask for the forgiveness of sin from God and man.
“Ask for forgiveness. Forgiveness from God not for the people that wronged you but for yourself,” he said.
He said Christians should also reach out to those that have offended them in love.
Pastor Mayowa Oloye of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) explained that Christians should count it all joy because it was a day when Jesus died for a cause that brought salvation to mankind.
A cleric, Evangelist Johnson Omobowale, of the Celestial Church of Christ, Aba Aladiye, Oluyole, Ibadan, said Good Friday centered on salvation of mankind through the death of Jesus Christ.
Pastor Israel Aboluwarin of CAC Sanctuary of Peace, Olodo, Ibadan, said doctrines of denominations may differ, but it behoves on Christians to always remember the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross of Calvary, which is Good Friday.
He advised Christians to celebrate Easter moderately with the fear of God and joy of salvation for which Jesus Christ laid down His life.
Easter is an annual event that is preceded by Lenten, then the Holy Week, followed by Palm Sunday, Spy Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and finally Easter Sunday which falls on April 1.
