Nigerian actress, Chioma Akpotha on Saturday said she was attacked by thugs in Lagos State during the governorship and state house of assembly elections.
The actress made this known in a video on her Instagram page, saying she was at the polling unit when the incident occurred.
Akpotha who sat in the backseat of a moving Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) with another lady during the live-streamed narration of the events which occurred a short distance from Victoria Garden City (VGC), Ajah, also added that the thugs destroyed her side mirror, as she ran for safety.

She wrote: “They destroyed my side mirror, I don’t even know the extent of the damage but they were with knives.
“I ran for my life. What happened to the free and fair election they promised us? Nothing is free and fair.”
Meanwhile, another distraught Nollywood thespian, Omoni Oboli has claimed that election officials failed to show up at her usual polling unit at Victoria Garden City (VGC) in Lagos and instead instructed voters to go to a polling unit on the Expressway.
She also urged Nigerians to tag the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to quickly rectify the anomaly so she and others in the area are not disenfranchised.
Taking to her social media message, she wrote: “So it’s 8:00 AM, and we’re set up; as you can see, we are fully set up here. Everything is completely organised all the polling units are here but Inec has said they are not coming into VGC; they’re going to set up on the express,” she said.
“I don’t understand why thousands of people are in here to vote and then you want us to go to the express.”
