Chidinma and her alleged accomplice, face eight-count charges of murder, stealing, forgery among other crimes which carry the maximum penalty
The trial of Chidinma Ojukwu, the alleged killer of Super TV chief executive officer, Usifo Ataga, could not proceed today. Her lawyer, Onwuka Egbu, and other defence counsels complained that he could not see the statement of Chidinma because it was not legible. The audio of her alleged confession was also not audible.
Chidinma is the 300-level Mass Communication student of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) who was arraigned on October 12 for the alleged murder of Super TV CEO, Usifo Ataga.

Justice Yetunde Adesanya thereafter directed the Lagos State director of public prosecution (DPP) to provide clearer statements and audible copies of the interviews to all the defence counsels before the end of the day.
Adesanya further adjourned the matter to November 11, 15, 16, 17, 26 and 30 for trial.
The three defendants were arraigned on October 12 on a nine-count charge for allegedly conspiring to murder Ataga on June 15 in the Lekki area of Lagos.
Chidinma and Adedapo Quadri are facing the first eight counts on the charge bordering on conspiracy, murder, stabbing, forgery and stealing.
The third defendant who is Ojukwu’s sister, Chioma Egbuchu, is facing the ninth count charge of stealing Ataga’s iPhone 7.
Their counsels are Onwuka Egbu, Babatunde Busari and A.O. Ogunsanya respectively.
The first two defendants were also accused of committing forgery by procuring bank account statements purported to have been made by the deceased.
They were also alleged to have forged UBA account statement of one Mary from June 1, 2021, an international passport and a driver’s licence in Chidinma’s name.
