Jorginho’s mistake gave Manchester United the lead but he made up for his error after scoring a 69th-minute penalty to level scores for Chelsea.
In their last two Premier League matches at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea have attempted 49 shots, faced just eight themselves and had 100 touches in their opponent’s penalty area, while drawing both matches 1-1.
The home side dominated proceedings but a combination of poor marksmanship and brilliant defending from United prevented them from taking the lead.
The second half began similarly, Chelsea dominated most aspects of the game, but it was the visitors who took the lead.

Jason Sancho capitalized on an error by Chelsea midfielder, Jorginho, to score the first goal of the encounter 5 minutes into the second half.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka, from Manchester United thereafter, conceded a penalty after tripping Thiago Silva in the penalty box.
Jorginho redeemed himself in the 69th minute after putting away the spot-kick to level the scores 1-1 for Chelsea.
The home side made frantic efforts to increase their tally but were unable to do so before the referee brought proceedings to an end after an additional 9 minutes.
Chelsea stayed top with the draw but they lead with just a point, meanwhile, Man United are 5 points shy of Champions League places.
David de Gea after the match, praised the efforts of his teammates, saying they defended better than they used to do.
He said: “We were conceding a lot of goals, a lot of chances, we were playing very poorly — at least now we are defending well, we are fighting for every ball, that’s the minimum for a mufc player.”
Michael Carrick, the caretaker manager, said Ralf Rangnick, the new interim manager, had no input in today’s game.
“No. We have managed to prepare the team for two massive games, came out positive and we will see what happens, ns tomorrow,” he said.
Micheal Carrick didn’t want to discuss the arrival of his boss, but Manchester United’s defender, Eric Bailly, said they have been intimated about his imminent arrival.
“We have been told in the dressing room about the arrival of the new manager,” Bailly said.
Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea manager, made a case for Jorginho’s mistake, saying it was a mistake anyone could make.
“He misjudged the situation and he was heavily disturbed from the lights so did not see the ball in the end. It happens.” Tuchel said.
