Charly Boy regrets missing out on being Made Kuti’s father-in-law

Charly Boy also hailed Femi Kuti for ensuring his son, Made was properly trained and well behaved, describing the young singer as a child ‘we’ll put together’

Nigerian singer, songwriter, TV presenter and producer, Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa better known as Charly Boy, has praised ace Afrobeat singer, Femi Kuti for raising his son, Made, very well. 

The 72-year-old made the comment when he accompanied the Labour Party flag bearer, Peter Obi to the Kutis, where the former Anambra State governor had gone to seek the support of the son of the legendary Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

Showering encomiums on Femi Kuti’s son, Made Kuti, the maverick showbiz icon said he would have loved to marry off one of his daughters to him if they were still single.  

Charly Boy also hailed his father, Femi Kuti for ensuring his son was properly trained and well behaved. 

He said, “My first time meeting and interacting with this young man, Femi’s son, Made. If my daughters never marry, I would have sent one of them to capture him.

“Made is a well put together child by his father. I’m so impressed,”

After the visit, Charly Boy, also known as Area Fada, took to social media to make a complementary post, where he appreciated the Kutis and once again, described Made as a special child.

He also delved into how Made’s grandfather and pioneer of Afrobeat music, Fela, impacted his life, while also stating that he loves and respects the Kuti family.

“I went to visit the Kuti’s today, had a great time and met someone very special, Made Kuti. I love the Kuti’s,” Charly Boy wrote.

He added, “Baba Fela emboldened my sagacity, audacity and consistency. I have nothing but mad love and respect for this great Nigerian family.”
