Celine Dion to sing at Paris Olympics opening ceremony despite health challenges

Despite her battle with Stiff Person Syndrome, (SPS), ace Canadian singer, Céline Marie Claudette Dion, simply known as Celine Dion is set to thrill the audience at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The ‘My Heart Will Go On’ crooner is expected to perform alongside other artistes such as  Dua Lipa and Aya Nakamura.

The Olympics, which is held every four years will commence on Friday, July 26 and will come to an end on August 11, in Paris, the capital of France.

According to guardian.ng, this year’s edition is estimated to have over 600,000 spectators in attendance and will be broadcast to 80 giant screens in public places.

Apart from this, for the first time in history, the opening ceremony, directed by Thomas Jolly, will be held outside an Olympics stadium.

Celine Dion, who has been battling with an ailment for a while, made her first public appearance in recent times at the 2024 Grammy Awards ceremony.
