“He is an icon. His leadership style is exceptional. He showed the way for a lot of us to follow. 30 years ago, when our Kabiyesi was installed as the Ajana Afa of Okeagbe, we were all happy and we prayed that during his reign as the Oba, the people of Afa would begin to experience unprecedented development, and that peaceful coexistence would reign among the people of the community.
“We thank God even with a short time after, our prayers have been answered. Currently, Afa community in Okeagbe is ranked as one of the peaceful communities in the State,” they noted.
They also stressed that as the custodian of culture and traditions, Oba Oladunjoye Fajana played a significant role in ensuring that the interest of his subjects is taken care of and that the spirit of co-operation, communal living and peaceful co-existence for which Yoruba people are known, is preserved.
They, however, described the monarch as a traditional ruler who has used his wealth of experience and knowledge to contribute to the progress and development of a family community in Okeagbe.
“Oba Oladunjoye Fajana is an epitome of dedication and selflessness in public and community service. He used his elevated positions in African Development Bank/World Bank to uplift the standards of life of the people he served.
“As an ex-African Development Bank/World Bank chief, Oba Fajana discharged his duties with the utmost professionalism, competence and dedication. He left the Bank with impeccable records, exhibiting the true spirit of royalty in him.
“Since his ascension of the throne of his forefathers 30 years ago, Kabiyesi has displayed exemplary leadership. All Afa community particularly the Egbegun salute his passion and commitment to the growth and development of the community. Indeed, the people of Afa are lucky to have a disciplinarian like him as their ruler.
“May Kabiyesi witnesses many more fruitful years and decades on the throne of his forefathers for the continuous service to humanity,” they added.
