CCT chairman, Umar, disgraced by Abuja traders for assaulting security man

Umar

The chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), Danladi Umar, got booed with his vehicle pelted with objects after he physically assaulted a private security guard at Banex plaza on March 29.

Umar was caught on camera physically assaulting the security guard even after two of the men in his convoy had given the security guard at the plaza some slaps.

The offence of the security guard, according to SaharaReporters which first broke the story, was that he asked Umar to park his vehicle well.

The CCT chairman, feeling insulted, suddenly became uncontrollably angry. Even after two men in his convoy gave the security guard some slaps as a way of pacifying the anger of the CCT chairman, he could not be calmed. He then launched a violent kick on the stomach of the security guard. At this point, the traders at the plaza could no longer tolerate the abuse of power. They then started screaming at Umar. His security detail hurriedly put him back into his vehicle.

The traders became even more aggressive as their numbers swell and started stoning the vehicles in the CCT chairman’s convoy, smashing their windscreens and windows.

The security guard, according to Sahara Reporters, was initially arrested, but released after the DPO of the Maitama Police Station watched the video and some that the security was the victim of Umar.
