Pundit and former Liverpool defender, Jamie Carragher has revealed the English Premier League (EPL) club he wants to lift the 2022/2023 season league trophy.

Appearing on Sky Sports, the Liverpool legend praised the Gunners boss, Mikel Arteta for transforming Arsenal into a very competitive and exciting side.

He went on to say he wants the North London club to win the EPL this season because he loves watching them play.

He also argued that despite being a very young side, Arteta’s pads are full of energy, fast and exciting to watch on television.

Reacting to how good they have been this season Carragher said: “I’d love to see Arsenal win the league.

“I really like what Mikel Arteta has done and I love watching his team play; young players, exciting, full of energy, it’s fast. When they’re on TV, you want to watch them.”

He also encouraged Arsenal to sign Shakhtar Donetsk winger, Mykhailo Mudryk, saying the move will give them more depth as they fight for the league title.

‘They’re after Mykhailo Mudryk, when I’ve seen him play in the Champions League, he’s been left-wing and Gabriel Martinelli is there right now, he’s been outstanding. Maybe one of them will go through the middle?

‘If they want to compete with Manchester City – and they are doing that right now but I’m talking about in all competitions and for the next few years like Liverpool have done – you need options from the bench. Mikel Arteta knows that better than anyone from his time at Manchester City.” he added.

Arsenal on Saturday, extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to seven points after winning a difficult away fixture against their buggy team, Brighton 4-2 at the Amex Stadium.

This is after their closest challenger and EPL champions, Manchester City dropped 2 points in their game against struggling Everton at the Etihad Stadium.

The Gunners next face high-flying Newcastle on Tuesday, January 3, at the Emirates Stadium, while the Citizens will travel to Stamford Bridge on Thursday, January 5, for their match against Chelsea.
