Cape Verde, recovered from a goal down to the Central African Republic (CAR) to beat the visitors 2-1
They now play Super Eagles in Lagos to determine who will move to the next round from Group C

The Blue Sharks of Cape Verde went into the 5th round game of African World cup qualifiers against the Central African Republic (CAR) knowing they must win to keep their dream alive.
Cape Verde were second in Group C on 7 points, 2 points adrift of the group leader, Nigeria, who were on 9 points before the game started.
The Home side must win the game against CAR and beat Nigeria in the last game in Lagos to stand a chance of emerging as Group C leader and progress to the next round.

CAR made a quick start and shocked the home side by going into the lead as early as the 11th minute through Isacc Ngoma, to end the first half 1-0 in favor of the away side.
The Blue Sharks responded in the second half and scored in the 52nd minute through Julio Tavares, to level the score 1-1.
Cape Verde continued to dominate the game and went ahead when Stopira made it 2-1 to the home side in the 76th minute.
The home side made all efforts to add to their tally but CAR remained resolute, the referee brought proceedings to an end after adding 4 extra minutes.
