Vincent Aboubakar and Karl Toko Ekambi scored twice each as hosts Cameroon put one foot in the second round of the Africa Cup of Nations with a thumping 4-1 victory over Ethiopia in Group A on Thursday.
Ethiopia took a surprise early lead in the 4th minute through Dawa Hottesa, after converting a pass from Amanuel Gebremichael.
But for the second successive game, Cameroon roared back from behind when Kari Toko Ekambi equalised in the 8th minute after he scored an assist from Collin Fai.

Captain Vincent Aboubakar took his tally for the tournament to three goals in the 53rd minute when he scored from a pass from Collins Fai to give the home side the lead for the first time in the game.
Aboubakar got his second brace of the competition two minutes later when he neatly finished an assist from Nicolas Ngamaleu to make it 3-1 to Cameroon.
It got worse for Ethiopia in the 67th minute when Ekambi scored his own brace after dispatching a brilliant pass from Martin Hongla to end the game 4-1 in favour of Cameroon.
The indomitable Lions now have six points from two matches and will qualify for the knockout stages if Burkina Faso fail to beat Cape Verde in Thursday’s Group A game.
Cameroon will face Cape Verde in their last group match on Monday, January 17, 2022.
