Real Madrid midfielder, Eduardo Camavinga has claimed his teammate, Vinicius Junior missed out on the coveted Ballon d’Or award on Monday night because of “football politics”.
The France international made this known on his X page, where he suggested that the organizers manipulated the results that saw Manchester City’s Rodri take home the 2024 edition of the award.
He also insisted that Vinicius is the best player in the world and that no award can define the Brazilian’s footballing prowess.
Reacting to naming Rodri as the 2024 Ballon d’Or recipient, Camavinga took to his verified social media handle and posted a picture of himself with Vinicius.

TheNiche had earlier reported that the decision to give Rodri this year’s Ballon d’Or sparked a lot of controversy on social media.
Many netizens who commented on the decision disagreed with the organizers and argued that Vinicius was more deserving of the award.
Meanwhile, several media outlets had hinted before the event commenced, that Vinicius and Real Madrid would boycott the ceremony.
