Butchers in Ondo mourn as 2 colleagues killed by suspected herdsmen

Butchers are angry in Ondo after two of their colleagues who were kidnapped while on a business trip to purchase cows, have been found dead

There was pandemonium in the early hours of today in Ala town in Akure North local government area of Ondo State as two butchers were found dead inside the bush.

The popular Akure butchers were said to have gone to the Ala community to purchase cows for their businesses when they met death.

It was learnt that the two butchers were part of the three men kidnapped on Monday by men suspected to be herdsmen.

Their lifeless bodies were discovered in the bush in the early hours of Tuesday, November 16.

It was further gathered that four butchers had received a call from one of the suspected kidnappers to come and buy cows.

One of them was attacked by the kidnappers and sustained injuries, two were killed when they were trying to escape while the whereabouts of the fourth person is unknown.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ondo State Police Command, Funmilayo Odunlami confirmed this development saying the command is currently investigating the matter.
