Nollywood producer and actress, Omoni Oboli has faulted the rape claims of Busola Dakolo, wife of Nigerian singer and songwriter, Timi Dakolo.

Busola Dakolo had in a video posted on Friday accused the Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Biodun Fatoyibo, raping her 20 years ago when she was a teenager.

Oboli said in an Instagram post that the whole story appears incoherent because, according to her, she does not understand why Dakolo went public with her story at the time she did.

“Given her antecedent of being a calm, ‘dramaless’ queen (unless Timi says otherwise), with no history of seeking attention or being overly dramatic (at least not publicly), how did she get to this point of going public at such a time as this simply to make ‘spurious’ accusations against a ‘man of God’, as some have said in a bid to sound ‘objective’?

“I listened to the story, and because I know her husband and his personality, I restrained myself from trying to weigh in based on the emotions that came flooding in, but here’s the thing, there was some incoherency in some of the claims, not because I believe she lied about them, but in my opinion was born out of the truthfulness of the real account. Why do I say that? Because unless you planned your own rape, the accounts are expected to sound incredible and spurious, and I suspect that’s why we don’t have so many convictions in many rape cases,” Omoni Oboli said.

Oboli is not the only one to fault Busola’s rape claims.

An aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has in a Twitter thread said Dakolo’s rape allegations lack credibility.

“Think. Don’t emote. A pastor comes to your house early in the morning. He does not know who will open when he knocks, or who is at home. He knocks and immediately you open he pushed you to a chair and raped you in your pajamas. Do people think?” Omokri said

The social media community is flaying the actress for saying she did not make sense in her story.

Busola Dakolo’s story has set social media on fire in the past few days forcing Fatoyibo to step aside as Senior Pastor of COZA.

Many people protested in different COZA churches in Nigeria asking that Fatoyibo be prosecuted for the rape.
