Burnley were relegated to the second tier of English football after losing their final league fixture 1-2 to Newcastle at home in Turf Moor.
The Clarets went into the match knowing a win against Newcastle would save them from playing Championship football next season.
But it was the visitors who got out of the block the quickest and they were awarded a penalty when Nathan Collins was judged to have handled the ball in the box by the referee.

Callum Wilson stepped forward in the 20th minute to calmly slot in the spot-kick and made it 1-0 to Newcastle United.
The Magpies made it 2-0 when Allan Saint-Maximin’s low ball across the box was finished off by Callum Wilson, who earned his brace for the afternoon in the process.
Burnley reduced the deficit in the 69th minute when Maxwell Cornet smashed in a volley from close range to make it 1-2 to the home side.
But it was not enough, as Leeds United defeated Brentford 2-1 at the Brentford Stadium to leapfrog Burnley and beat the drop.
