Ace Afrobeats singer and songwriter, Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy, has claimed he recently rejected a $5 million offer to perform in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

He made the revelation on the social media platform, X during a freestyled rehearsal with his band, Outsiders.

According to Burna Boy, he turned down the mouth-watering opportunity because he would not be allowed to smoke Indian hemp, also known as  “weed” while in the UAE.

This is because Emirati law prohibits smoking in parks, beaches and all public recreational areas in Dubai.

Speaking through his song, he said: “Just now I turned down dubai money, 5million dollar na small thing cos me I no dey like to dey go where dem no go gree allow me smoke igbo.”

Meanwhile, Burna Boy also seized the same opportunity to aim a dig at fellow singer and Nollywood actor, Ọlawale Ọlọfọrọ popularly known as Brymo.

As seen in the now-viral clip, the ‘Last Last’ crooner warned other artistes to ensure they work very hard so that their career doesn’t fall off the cliff like that of Brymo.

“Hustle hard make you no fall off like Brymo,” he said.
