Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, for burial in Abuja

The Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari and most influential man in Buhari’s Cabinet,  Mallam Abba Kyari, who died on Friday will be buried on Saturday April 18, 2020.

 The Personal Assistant on New Media to the President, Basir Ahmad, disclosed this through his Twitter handle.

   Ahmad said: “Mallam Abba Kyari will be buried later today (Saturday) in Abuja according to Islamic rites.”

  It would be recalled that Abba Kyari had died at the age of 81 on Friday. He was said to have died after testing positive to the ravaging COVID-19.

  Announcing the death of Abba Kyari’s death on his Twitter handle @GarShehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, disclosed that Abba Kyari died of coronavirus infection.

   Shehu wrote, “The Presidency regrets to announce the passage of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari.

  “The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19, and had been receiving treatment. But he died on Friday, April 17, 2020.”

  Also the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, confirmed the death, via his verified Twitter handle @FemAdesina, “Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, passes on. May God rest his soul. Amen. Funeral arrangements to be announced soon.”
