Buhari to make farewell broadcast Sunday

The broadcast will be the last for President Buhari before he hands over to President-elect Bola Tinubu who will be sworn in on Monday, May 29.

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Sunday, May 28 make a farewell broadcast as President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces at 7 am.

A statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, made this known on Saturday.

“Television, radio stations and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority and Radio Nigeria for the broadcast,” the statement said.

The broadcast will be his last before he hands over to President-elect Bola Tinubu who will be sworn in on Monday, May 29.

Earlier on Saturday, President Buhari was at the 2023 Presidential Inauguration Lecture which had the former President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, as guest speaker at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Also present at the lecture was Tinubu, Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima, religious leaders, representatives of corporate organisations, and business people.
