Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Abubakar Adamu Mohammed is set to take over from retiring Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris on Tuesday.
Sources said President Muhammadu Buhari is set to unveil Mohammed as the 20th indigenous IGP after Idris.
Some names were said to be forwarded to the President on Monday from where he chose Mohammed who is currently serving at the
National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) out of list of names of officers presented to him.
AIG Mohammed hails from Lafia in Nasarawa State, and according to sources, he would be unveiled on Tuesday.
He once served as a deputy commissioner of police in Ekiti State and has also served at Interpol and the FCIID, Alagbon.
