The President, Muhammadu Buhari, will this Friday, October 7, present the 2023 budget proposal to the joint session of the National Assembly.
The 2023 budget proposal will be Buhari’s last as a new president will be sworn in next year.
On October 7, 2022, Buhari presented N16.39 trillion as the 2022 budget proposal before a joint session of the National Assembly. The proposed budget was titled, “Budget of Economic Growth and Sustainability”.
The 2022 estimate proposed a total of 10.13 trillion Naira as the collectable revenue available to fund the budget . This includes Grants and Aid of 63.38 billion Naira, as well as the revenues of 63 Government-Owned Enterprises.

President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan made this known at the commencement of Tuesday’s plenary, when he read a letter sent by the President, according to a statement by Mohammed Isa, his special assistant on media.
Lawan said the event would hold at the temporary chamber of the House of Representatives against the background of the ongoing renovation of the permanent chambers of the National Assembly.
He said arrangements had been concluded for the venue to accommodate all the lawmakers, the President and his delegation.
