President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday honoured an invitation extending to him by the Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, to attending the wedding of his son, Najib Aminu Waziri.
The wedding ceremony, which took place in Argungu, Kebbi State, saw Najib taking Amina Umar Tafida, daughter of Senator Umar Tafida, Tafidan Argungu, as his wife.
President Buhari, who did not honour the invitation in person, was, however, represented by the Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Maigari Dingyadi, Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, and Musa Haro, a Special Assistant in the Presidency.
The president, who advised the new couple to commit their relationship to God and treat each other with respect, also congratulated Tambuwal.
To the new couple, Buhari said, “I urge you to be loyal and committed, never to give up on one another.”
