The Council of State has confirmed the Acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, as the new Inspector General of police.
Mr Adamu was appointed in acting capacity on January 15 when he took over from former IGP, Ibrahim Idris.
His confirmation was announced at the police council meeting on Thursday which was presided over by President Muhammadu.
