The Nigerian government has suspended the microblogging app, Twitter, after deleting President Buhari’s tweet which suggested the use of violence to crush secessionist agitators in the South East.

The announcement was made by Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

According to the statement. the Federal Government has suspended, indefinitely, the operations of the microblogging and social networking service, Twitter, in Nigeria.
