Ahead of its special convention to select its presidential candidate for the 2023 general elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has released a list of sub-committee to handle various aspects of the exercise
The list was released on Wednesday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
Loyalists of former Lagos State governor and presidential aspirant of the party, Bola Tinubu, featured prominently in the list. They include Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos State, who co-chairs the Finance and Logistics, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Governor of Ogun State, who heads the Accreditation and Decoration sub-committee, Rotimi Akeredolu, Governor of Ondo State, in charge of Security and Compliance sub-committee. Gboyega Oyetola, Governor of Osun State, another Tinubu acolyte, co-chairs the Accommodation sub-committee.
APC is expected to hold a convention between June 6 and 8 where the presidential candidate is to emerge from about 23 aspirants.
The release of the list of the sub-committee members came on the heels of President Muhammadu Buhari unfolding his criteria for the ideal presidential candidate of the party for the elections.
The President made the disclosure while meeting with APC Governors in Abuja, where he alluded to consensus as an option for the primary.
