More than 35 people paid the ultimate price to blood-thirsty terrorists in embattled Plateau State on Tuesday night.

The bloodcurdling attack took place at Yelwa Zangam, a community behind the University of Jos (UNIJOS).

TheNiche reliably gathered that the terrorists invaded the community around 9 pm on Tuesday, burning houses and shooting anyone on sight.

To ensure that they executed their evil plot without any hindrance, the terrorists were said to have first dismantled the bridge leading to Naraguta community, thereby preventing any access to the embattled community before launching the attacks.

This attack is happening barely one week after over 25 travellers were killed on Gada-Biyu–Rukuba road in Jos North local government area.

Over 35 corpses have been recovered.

A source told TheNiche that the casualty figure was expected to increase because the people had no escape route and the security men were not around.

“They took us by surprise. People were just preparing to go to bed. Some had already gone to bed. It was a scorched earth attack. They were shooting at every moving object they saw including animals,” he said anonymously.

A resident, Yakubu, also confirmed the fresh attack to reporters on Wednesday morning.

According to him, over 30 people were killed and security personnel had been drafted to the area.
