Even as the National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is underway at the Eagle Square, Abuja, armed terrorists, numbering over 200, invaded the Kaduna International Airport located in Igabi Local Government Area this afternoon.

The attack occurred at about 12.30 pm on Saturday.

Reports reaching TheNiche indicate that the dare-devil terrorists invaded the runway of the Kaduna Airport in their numbers and prevented a Lagos-bound AZMAN aircraft from taking off.

The terrorists also shot dead a staff of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) around the runway area of the airport.

Although the Kaduna State Government and Police authorities are yet to confirm the incident, it was gathered that AZMAN aircraft could not take off at 12.30 pm as scheduled due to the overwhelming presence of the terrorists at the runway.

The development caused panic at the airport, forcing the authorities to temporarily shut down activities while the military battled the suspected terrorists.

A source claimed that the terrorists insisted on shutting down the airport.
