Tinubu was not the only person honoured, the Vice President-elect, Settima was also decorated with the GCON at the event

The President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been conferred the highest honour in Nigeria, the Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (GCFR)
Also, decorated during the same event is Vice President-elect Kashim Settima who was awarded the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON).
President Muhammadu Buhari conferred both men with the national honours at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday, as part of activities lined up for the inauguration of the new administration on May 29.

The Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs George Akume while congratulating the president-elect, expressed optimism that the country would be ushered into an era of prosperity under the incoming administration.
On his part, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Boss Mustapha noted the outgoing administration has done well in the last eight years owing to what he described as ‘visionary leadership’.
Reflecting on the eight years of President Buhari, the SGF said a lot was achieved in the areas of infrastructure which include railway lines, road infrastructure sukuk projects, Second Niger Bridge, power amongst many other projects.
