Lagos State House of Assembly on Tuesday elected the representative of Agege 1 constituency, Mudashiru Obasa, as Speaker of the House for the third term.
Obasa emerged as Speaker of the 10th Assembly shortly after the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, proclaimed the Assembly.
Monisola Lasbat (Apapa I), Chief Whip of the Ninth Assembly, was also elected Deputy Speaker of the 10th Assembly after her nomination and general acceptance by the House.
Obasa, the most ranking member of the House, was nominated by Temitope Adewale, representing Ifako-Ijaiye 1 state constituency, and was seconded by Sylvester Ogunkelu.
Noheem Adams, the Deputy Majority Leader in the ninth Assembly, was elected as the new Majority Leader while Adedamola Kasunmu was elected the Deputy Majority Leader.
