Director General of the Labour Party, Professor Akin Osuntokun, has asked for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to cancel the entire election and order a fresh poll that would comply with the guidelines of the election process.

Osuntokun, at a press conference on Monday, said the promise by President Muhammadu Buhari to give Nigerians a free and fair election has been torpedoed by the coalition of INEC and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Osuntokun urged the U.S. to prevail on Nigeria to keep to democratic ethos just as it did in 2015 when the then U.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry, pressured the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan government to do the right thing.
