The Executive Chairman of Maiyama Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Zayyanu Muhammad Bello has passed away.
The civil servant turned politician gave up the ghost after he finally succumbed to a prolonged illness that had rendered him inactive.
His passing was confirmed on Thursday by the Kebbi State Government via a statement made available to pressmen by the spokesman to the state governor, Ahmed Idris.
According to him, the late chairman, who was a dedicated public servant before joining politics, breathed his last early in the morning at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital (UDUTH) in Sokoto.

The statement read: “Regrettably, with a heavy heart, I announce the death of Hon. Zayyanu Muhammad Bello, Executive Chairman of Maiyama Local Government.
“He died early this morning at UDUTH Sokoto after a protracted illness.”
The governor’s spokesperson further added that the state government would communicate details of his burial arrangements to the public in due course.
