Security operatives have locked down Kaduna metropolis following the arraignment of the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, (IMN) Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky in Kaduna today.
The main Business area, stretching from Lagos street Roundabout in Junction road to NEPA Roundabout in Ahmadu Bello way has completely been taken over by security operatives.
Shops inside and around the whole area including the Kaduna Central Market remain locked
Banks, schools and other offices within the vicinity of the market and the court located along Ibrahim Taiwo road are all shut.
Those along the Independence way from Police college up to the Waff road is also close to motorists and even pedestrian.
Journalists, lawyers who were coming to the court premises had to pack their vehicles and trekked long distances to the court.
As usual, journalists were barred from the court premises. As those that were unable to properly identify themselves were turned away.
As at the time of filing this report, the court was still in session with Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife inside the court room.
