Breaking: Hoodlums burn Imo governor’s family house, kill two security men

The family house of Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, has been torched by suspected hoodlums early Saturday morning.

The hoodlums, were said to have killed two security men and over-powered others at the family house in Omuma, Oru East Local Government Area.

It was also gathered that vehicles parked at the compound were affected by the fire.

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, confirmed the incident.

He said, “It is true but the information is not still clear. It is not true that several security men lost their lives. About two security men on duty at the governor’s house were killed. NSCDC personnel was among the security men who lost their lives during the attack.”

Recall that gunmen had invaded the headquarters of the Nigerian Correctional Service and the Nigeria Police in Imo State April 5, 2021, razing down the institutions and freeing over 1,800 inmates.

During the attack, one person suspected to be a fleeing inmate was hit by a bullet while carrying his travel bag.
