Gunmen believed to be members of the Boko Haram were Sunday evening got into a heavy shoot-out with soldiers in Aladuwari village – about 2km away from Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
Residents are currently fleeing with their children as reported by Mike Amadi at the scene in Maiduguri.
The attackers arrived in the area at about 6 p.m. local time, reports Premium Times
Also at about 8 p.m., two suicide bombers, believed to be females, detonated explosives near FOMWAN school in Jiddari area of Maiduguri.
The casualty figure from the aatack is yet to be independently confirmed.
