Gunmen have killed Katsina State Commissioner for Science and Technology Dr Rabe Nasir Bindawa.
He was said to have been killed on Wednesday evening at his residence in Fatima Shema estate of Katsina state.
Sanusi Buba, Katsina commissioner of police, confirmed the discovery of the body during a visit to the deceased’s residence on Thursday.
Buba also said a suspect has been arrested and investigation is ongoing.

“The unfortunate incident happened last night. As you can see, we’ve successfully evacuated the corpse to the hospital and an investigation has started.
“An arrest has also been made. A suspect has been arrested and investigation has since begun,” Buba said.
A resident source said, “The gunmen stormed the house at night and attacked him while he was trying to escape from them. They killed him and locked his corpse up in one of the rooms where we discovered it today (Thursday).”
Governor Aminu Masari and other top officials made a fact-finding visit to the residence on Thursday evening.
Nasir, 61, a former House of Representatives member, was also a former officer of the Department of State Services (DSS) and he also worked with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
He was also a special adviser handling the same portfolio during Masari’s first tenure.
He was appointed as commissioner in 2019.
