Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, has fired his Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Dr Muhammad Tahar Adam, over what he termed “unguarded utterances.”
According to a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Mallam Muhammad Garba, the commissioner was running the affairs of his ministry as a personal business.
Garba said Ganduje has already forwarded the name of a nominee, Dr Nazifi Ishaq Bichi of Bayero University, Kano to the House of Assembly as a replacement.
He said the sacking of the commissioner who is also a member of the state executive council followed his unbecoming attitude as a public servant holding sensitive office.
