BREAKING: FG arraigns Binance executives, Anjarwalla, Gambaryan for tax fraud

Anjarwalla allegedly escaped from the custody of the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) after his arrest  on February 28

The Nigerian government is set to begin the trial of fleeing Binance Regional Manager for Africa, Nadeem Anjarwalla and the company’s Head of Financial Crime Compliance, Tigran Gambaryan, at a Federal High Court in Abuja, the Federal  Capital Territory (FCT) over allegations of tax evasion.

The duo will be arraigned today at the court, in the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CR/115/2024.

They were accused of failing to register with the Federal Inland Revenue Service, (FIRS), for the purpose of paying all relevant taxes administered by the service.

Although Anjarwalla is still at large, Gambaryan, who donned a black T-shirt on green pants, was brought into the court at about 9:19 am by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Prior to this development, TheNiche had reported that the two senior management staff of Binance, were arrested and detained by the Nigerian authorities on February 28.

However, Anjarwalla found a way to escape from the custody of the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).
