BREAKING: Emmanuel Yawe, ACF Publicity Secretary, dies at 65

The National Publicity Secretary of Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Mr Emmanuel Yawe is dead.

Yawe died in Abuja on Friday after a protracted illness.

Former Secretary General of the Forum, Chief Anthony Sani confirmed the incident to The Nation.

He said:“It is sad, I just read it on the ACF platform now that he is dead.”

A message confirming his demise to ACF members by the Forum’s Secretary General, Murtala Aliyu reads; “It is with heavy heart that I bring to your notice the passing away of our Publicity Secretary Chief EMMANUEL YAWE this morning.

“I have intimated the Chairman Audu Ogbeh and he instructed that I should bring it to the notice of members. We will be visiting the family and will keep you informed about the burial arrangements. May his gentle soul Rest In Peace,” he said.

Yawe, born on October 21, 1956, died at 65.

The ACF spokesman had on Thursday issued a condolence statement on behalf of the Forum on the death of the former Speaker of House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Chaha.

Emmanuel Yawe, an alumnus of University of Ibadan, Ibadan, was a Member, Editorial Board of Advisers, The Point Newspaper, Editorial Board Member, People’s Daily Newspaper, Managing Editor, New Sentinel Newspaper, Editor, Crystal International News Magazine and President, World Vision Communications.

Emmanuel Yawe was also Managing Director, Gongola Press Ltd between 1988 to 1992; Director General, Governor’s Office, Gongola State 1987 to 1988; Editor, Sunday Triumph Newspapers 1984 to 1987; Chief Press Secretary, Governor’s Office, Gongola State 1983 to1983; Editorial Board Member, New Nigerian Newspaper 1982 to 1983 and Correspondent, News Agency of Nigeria, 1980 to 1982.
