Godwin Emefiele has again been arraigned in court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over crimes he allegedly committed as Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor.
He was arraigned at the Ikeja High Court this morning over 26 charges allegedly involving abuse of office and misallocation of billions of dollars, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The charge sheet marked ID/23787c/2024 and dated 3 April 2024 alleged Emefiele abused his office between 2022 and 2023 in Lagos.
When Judge Rahman Oshodi entered the courtroom and began the proceedings, the 26-count charge was read out to Emefiele and his co-defendant, Henry Omoile.
But both accused pleaded not guilty to all counts.
This is breaking news. Details later…
