. Pro-Abe supporters barricade hotel, bar convention C’ttee from exit
Hundreds of supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State loyal to Sen. Magnus Abe have blocked members of the party’s National Convention Committee from exiting Novotel Hotel.
The supporters, who stormed the hotel, said that the committee refused to distribute the material meant for the election to the 23 local government areas and had written the results to favour a faction of the party.
Member representing Eleme/Tai/Oyibo Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Barinada Mpigi, who is among the leaders of the aggrieved members, noted that the delegate lists had been manipulated. Mpigi said that until the National Committee addressed the supporters on the development that they would not leave the hotel.
