BREAKING: Bakare joins club of APC presidential aspirants with N100m bet

Bakare paid the N100 million today to secure a place among the aspirants gunning for the flag of the APC.

Pastor Tunde Bakare, General Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, has purchased the N100m nomination and expression of interests forms of the All-Progressives Congress (APC) to join the long list of politicians seeking to fly the flag of the party.

According to reporting by the Vanguard Newspaper, Bakare paid the N100 million today to secure a place among the aspirants gunning for the flag of the APC.

As of the last count, all the APC presidential aspirants have held one government job or the other and largely made their money using those positions, except for Bakare.

And as of the last count, the prominent aspirants that have declared include; Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, ex-Lagos Governor Bola Tinubu, Ebonyi Governor, Dave Umahi, Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello, Ekiti Governor Kayode Fayemi, Cross River Governor Ben Ayade, Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, Senators Rochas Okorocha, Orji Uzor Kalu,  Ibikunle Amosun, Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba and  Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, former National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole and, Jigawa State Governor, Abubakar Badaru and now Bakare.

There are speculations that ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Senate President Ahmed Lawan and the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele will also announce their bids for the APC presidential ticket. The party has extended the closing date for the purchase of the form to May 10 to allow for more aspirants to stake their N100 million.
