President of the Africa Development Bank (AfDB), Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina, has lost his father, Adesina tweeted Thursday afternoon.
“My darling father and best friend, Roland F. Adesina, passed away yesterday morning. I wouldn’t have been who I am today without your love and sacrifice. Thanks for sending me to school and being a role model. Rest in peace my very dear senior Ombros”, he said.
Adesina on March 17, 2018 marked the one year anniversary of the passing of his father-in-law, Dr B.S. Oloruntoba, after announcing on February 28, 2018, about the death of his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Bamidele Oloruntoba.
He was Agriculture and Rural Development Minister under former President Goodluck Jonathan and has been credited with starting the agricultural revolution currently going in Nigeria.
Adesina became President of AfDB in 2015.
