The Brazilian FA made the move for Pep Guardiola following disclosure by the current Brazil manager, Adenor Leonardo Bacchi, popularly known as Tite, that he will leave his role after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The report also claimed that the former Bayern Munich boss has been offered a four-year contract by the Brazilian Football Confederation, who are hopeful that they can prise Guardiola away from Man City after meeting with his brother and representative, Pere Guardiola.

The federation may however need to wait until the summer of 2023 when the Spaniard’s contract with the Premier League leaders will come to an end.

Meanwhile, when TNT Sports’ Fred Caldeira asked the Manchester City manager if he would be interested in coaching Brazil after the World Cup in Qatar

He responded strongly and said, “Brazil has very good Brazilian coaches who have to coach the national team… There are very good Brazilian coaches. Debate closed!”
