Renowned comedian Brain Jotter has responded to the controversy surrounding the viral dance challenge he initiated, featuring Mike Ejeagha’s 1983 hit song “Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo.” In a heartfelt video, Brain Jotter shared the emotional moment during his visit to Ejeagha’s home, where the legendary musician was moved to tears by the tribute.

The skitmaker’s response comes amid concerns about potential exploitation and profiteering from Ejeagha’s song. Brain Jotter emphasized his appreciation for those who voiced these concerns, affirming that he understands and shares the desire for Ejeagha to be celebrated and properly compensated for his decades of musical brilliance.

Addressing the controversy, Brain Jotter clarified that he did not profit from the song, stating, “not a single dime was made” from the viral challenge. He highlighted the positive outcome of the challenge, noting that it significantly increased the song’s streams on streaming platforms, with all revenues going directly to Ejeagha.

“For those who think we ripped him off or we’re making money from this whole thing, I understand your concerns and they are very valid,” Brain Jotter said. “I appreciate the fact that you want him to get value for his hard work, which is very valid, and I want you to understand that you are doing something good.”

He continued, “At the end of the day, no dime was made from this song by me, nothing like that. The song increased its streams on streaming platforms massively, and there’s no way I can put the song on streaming platforms. So everything, all revenues, are going straight to Mike Ejeagha.”

Brain Jotter also revealed that he personally gave Ejeagha two million naira from his own pocket. “My hard-earned money is just for humanity and not for profit. This whole thing is not for profit,” he explained.

The comedian’s heartfelt message aims to clear the air and reassure fans and critics alike that his intentions were purely to honor and support the legendary musician.
