American-based Nigerian actor and former BBNaija 6 housemate Boma Akpore, better known as Boma, has said the noise surrounding his romantic entanglement with Tega persisted because he did not win the show.
The TV reality star was in the company of other former housemates, Tega, Emmanuel, and Liquorose when he commented.
In a video that went viral on Instagram, Boma made it clear that despite trying to put the issue behind him, fans of the show have refused to let it go.
He also noted that in the history of the show, nobody has been vilified like him and Tega.
” I have been trying to stay away from this, but the fans are taking it differently, people have to understand how to deal with it, but I’m not freaked out about fans, I have been around the entertainment industry for 18 years and I don’t like anyone telling me what to do.
“I don’t think anyone has taken a bashing in entertainment history as the two of us (he and Tega).” He said
He however said, the criticism doesn’t get to him, as he is only bothered about constructive criticism coming from those who matter to him as he added:
” One has to be mentally strong, I don’t listen to everyone talking, for you to talk and it will affect me, you have to be someone important, my fan, my agent, my family or my PR company, not someone offering criticism that is not constructive”
When Tega said she is being bashed for kissing and getting romantically involved on live TV, the 34-year-old Boma came to her defense saying :
” People should leave you (Tega) alone and come and face me,”
One of those at the table but whose identity was not revealed asked Tega how she has been coping with the bashing and she replied saying BBNaija fame comes with positive and negative vibes.
The man agreed with her and reassured her that the situation is not irredeemable, as it can be managed with proper enlightenment and PR stunts.
