Major General Olusegun Adeniyi may have incurred the wrath of his superior, General Tukur Buratai, following a viral video where he profusely complained of wrong intel during a Boko Haram attack.

According to a report by an online newspaper, PREMIUM TIMES, the former commander of Operation Lafiya Dole would face “jurisdiction”, a term synonymous to court-martial in military parlance.

PREMIUM TIMES quoted Army insiders as saying that the Army high command was not pleased when Adeniyi appeared in a video in March this year complaining about poor equipment after a duel with the Boko Haram terrorists which left dozens of his soldiers dead.

In the viral video, which seemed to explain why the Boko Haram terrorists could not be easily decimated, Adeniyi lamented that the intelligence provided to them were wrong, and that they were facing an enemy whose firing capacity he estimated was about 15 gun trucks.

While the military did not react to Adeniyi’s video, he was removed as the commander of Operation Lafiya Dole.

TheNiche learned that until the incident which led Adeniyi to complain of wrong intel and poor equipment, he had himself refused to entertain same complaint from his men.

PREMIUMS TIMES says the court martial is expected to commence on July 20.
