Biden-Harris campaign communications director, Michael Tyler has said the conviction of former United States president, Donald Trump by a New York court on Thursday shows that “no one is above the law”.
TheNiche had earlier reported that a New York jury found the Republican Party 2024 presidential candidate guilty on all 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.
He’ll be sentenced on July 11, four days before the Republican National Convention and faces penalties ranging from a fine to four years in prison on each count, although it’s expected he would be sentenced for the offenses concurrently, and not consecutively.
The development makes the 77-year-old the first ex-American president to be criminally convicted.

Speaking after he was pronounced guilty by the jury, Trump said, “This was a disgrace. This was a rigged trial by a conflicted judge who was corrupt.”
However, reacting to the judgement, Joe Biden campaign organization in a statement by its Spokesman said it is a victory for rule of law.
He also said Americans still need to keep Trump out of the Oval Office during November election.
The statement read: “In New York today, we saw that no one is above the law.
“But today’s verdict does not change the fact that the American people face a simple reality.
“There is still only one way to keep Donald Trump out of the Oval Office: at the ballot box.”
