A group of activists under the aegis of Concerned Citizens Platform (CCP) has urged Nigerians to be wary of corrupt politicians and fake political gladiators as the 2019 elections draw closer.

The group also advised Nigerians not to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term agenda as his government has failed in all its electoral promise.

CCP also attributed   Nigeria’s   problems to   corruption, insecurity and impunity, stressing that Buhari has failed woefully in “governance over the last four years and should be ashamed for seeking reelection”.

He has failed in securing the lives and property of Nigerians and has embarked on hunting political opponents.

“Nigeria has never witnessed loss of lives in her history than the ones in the few years of Buhari’s reign,” the group stated.

In a communiqué signed by the President and Secretary General, Prince Oyani Emmanuel and Eromosele   Celestine,   respectively on   Monday, the group stated: “We are warning   Nigerians to be   mindful of   political sycophants that   have plundered   Nigeria into   division along   religious and ethnic backgrounds.

“They have pushed the country to be among the poorest nations in the world with about 90 million people living in extreme poverty and this is unacceptable in a country endowed with human and material resources.”

The group lamented the assassinations and willful murder that have never been resolved till date.

According to the group, “The All Progressives Congress under which Buhari is the leader should be ashamed to be asking for reelection in 2019. The insurgency in different parts of the country and the bloodletting killings have become a daily occurrence and government is playing propaganda with it.

“The killing has even extended to top military officers. If a former chief of defence staff could be killed, then who is safe? President Buhari lied when he said he has won the fight against Boko Haram.

“Buhari’s integrity is in serious doubt when he failed to clear his name in the allegation from the Peoples’ Democratic Party accusation that his family has used public fund to purchase shares of Etisalat and Keystone Bank to the tune of above N1trillion”.

The group also raised the alarm on the threat and recent attack and the life of its President (Prince Oyani Emmanuel) for speaking out against bad governance in the country.

According to the group, “Such attack was done in 2014 but they failed, while he escaped another attack along Kaduna-Abuja express way recently but that would not deter the group’s determination for a better society.”

CCP also harped on the collapse of infrastructure, just as it condemned a fake water project the Buhari administration claimed has been commissioned at Ugboha in Edo State.

“Buhari was in power in 1984 and Nigeria’s economy was worst off hence his administration was toppled by another military regime. He is not a democrat and his poor performance should make Nigerians to vote him out” the statement noted.
